Program Themes Creator helps you create a theme for almost all phones Sony Ericsson, which allow personalize your own interface in this way.
Annex has a convenient intuitive interface - nothing extraordinary, but the options, however, it is sufficient to improve the design of the phone.
Work with the program is quite simple: you have to substitute in some places specially designed images, if necessary, change the text color and background - and the issue is ready. This second edition of the landmark book Reading Images builds on its reputation as the first systematic and comprehensive account of the grammar of visual design. Drawing on an enormous range of examples from children’s drawings to textbook illustrations, photo-journalism to fine art, as well as three-dimensional forms such as sculpture and toys, the authors examine the ways in which images communicate meaning.
Features of this fully updated second edition include: new material on moving images and on color, a discussion of how images and their uses have changed through time, websites and web-based images, and ideas on the future of visual communication.
Reading Images’ focus on the structures or "grammar" of visual design: color, perspective, framing and composition, provides the reader with an invaluable "tool-kit" for reading images and makes it a must for anyone interested in communication, the media and the arts.

Hibernate in Action
Hibernate in Action
Manning Publications; 1 edition | ISBN: 193239415X | 408 pages | Data: August 1, 2004 | PDF | 1 Mb
Hibernate practically exploded on the Java scene. Why is this open-source tool so popular? Because it automates a tedious task: persisting your Java objects to a relational database. The inevitable mismatch between your object-oriented code and the relational database requires you to write code that maps one to the other. This code is often complex, tedious and costly to develop. Hibernate does the mapping for you.
Not only that, Hibernate makes it easy. Positioned as a layer between your application and your database, Hibernate takes care of loading and saving of objects. Hibernate applications are cheaper, more portable, and more resilient to change. And they perform better than anything you are likely to develop yourself.
Hibernate in Action carefully explains the concepts you need, then gets you going. It builds on a single example to show you how to use Hibernate in practice, how to deal with concurrency and transactions, how to efficiently retrieve objects and use caching.
The authors created Hibernate and they field questions from the Hibernate community every day–they know how to make Hibernate sing. Knowledge and insight seep out of every pore of this book.
What's Inside
- ORM concepts
- Getting started
- Many real-world tasks
- The Hibernate application development process

Design Elements: A Graphic Style Manual
Rockport Publishers | 2007 | ISBN: 1592532616 | 272 pages | PDF | 46,3 MB
The graphic design equivalent to Strunk & White's The Elements of Style
This book is simply the most compact and lucid handbook available outlining the basic principles of layout, typography, color usage, and space.
Being a creative designer is often about coming up with unique design solutions. Unfortunately, when the basic rules of design are ignored in an effort to be distinctive, design becomes useless. In language, a departure from the rules is only appreciated as great literature if recognition of the rules underlies the text. Graphic design is a "visual language," and brilliance is recognized in designers whose work seems to break all the rules, yet communicates its messages clearly.
This book is a fun and accessible handbook that presents the fundamentals of design in lists, tips, brief text, and examples. Chapters include Graphic Design: What It Is; What Are They and What Do They Do?; 20 Basic Rules of Good Design; Form and Space-The Basics; Color Fundamentals; Choosing and Using Type; The World of Imagery; Putting it All Together?Essential Layout Concepts; The Right Design Choices: 20 Reminders for Working Designers; and Breaking the Rules: When and Why to Challenge all the Rules of this Book.

WebObjects Developer's Guide
By Ravi Mendis
- Publisher: Sams
- Number Of Pages: 400
- Publication Date: 2002-07-04
- ISBN-10 / ASIN: 0672323265
- ISBN-13 / EAN: 9780672323263
Product Description:
WebObjects is an object-oriented Web application server that is used to generate scalable Web and Java applications from reusable templates. A product of Apple Computer, WebObjects' client list includes such Fortune 500 companies as Disney, Adobe, and the BBC.The product's support for Java 2 Enterprise Edition and its competitive pricing are expected to expand WebObjects' growing position in the market for Web application servers, a market that is expected to grow by more than $2 billion in revenue by 2002 (Forrester Research).
WebObjects Developer's Guide is a unique, step-by-step guide for intermediate- to advanced-level developers. It uses a hands-on instructional approach to make the sophisticated and sometimes complex WebObjects technology accessible to developers. The book explains WebObjects concepts and paradigms, and it illustrates the art of modeling applications with the Enterprise Object Framework.
The author provides practical insight into WebObjects development based upon his extensive experience as a consultant for major international corporations.
Summary: Don't think, just do
Rating: 2
A programming environment is much like writing a book or painting a picture. You can be shown step-by-step how to write a specific paragraph or paint a specific object, and make them with little variation... or you can be taught the concepts behind them, and use those concepts to make your painting, writing, or program actually your own.
Ravi Mendis takes the step-by-step approach to show you how to make something, without spending any time to explain the concepts behind what its being shown. In my opinion, this 'teaching' style is little more useful than just giving people a CD full of code for completed projects. If you're not going to explain what the code does, why it does what it does, and how to use it, how are you going to know how to use it?
Also, this book is poorly edited: sentence fragments litter the book, as well as spelling errors. At times, it can be very difficult to read.
Summary: O'Reilly whereart thou?
Rating: 2
I'm about 70% through this book, purchased on Amazon.com last week, and have some comments to share:
So far the entire text has been pretty much a directed tutorial. The book does little to explain concepts, preferring to direct procedurally instead. This tends to make subjects more cryptic, and at times it is difficult to understand the author's objective/message in a chapter until you've struggled through it. (I'm someone who *enjoyed* the Sendmail book with the bat on the cover, so not too hard to please).
It is impossible to read and understand this book without actually sitting in front of ProjectBuilder with it; this is not an 'enjoyable' read. If you're looking for a conceptual book about WebObjects, keep looking - this one leaves you dry and perhaps even more confused if you don't have the time to 'read and do'.
Notwithstanding style, the technical content is good and eventually you arrive at the end of a section and it's like a lightbulb has been switched on - 'ahhh; now I see what he has been driving at', so I would still recommend the book given the dearth available on this subject. Also, to give due credit, it does cover some material that Apple's own doc does not.
The #2 issue I have is the amount of tedious typing of example material. This is not a high school textbook and there are no prizes for the fastest typist - in order to get through the material quickly all code passages should be provided as text files or, optimally, in project files.
If you are going to write a 400 page tutorial, at least provide the sample projects and source code referred to on CD - or, even better, a PDF copy of the book online. There is some material provided (basically image files) on the publisher's website, but it's inadequate to say the least.
I initially felt that the book was very sparse for a (Canadian) $77 pricetag, but now realise that just a few pages can result in several hours with Project Builder!
If you're a fan of the O'Reilly technical books that offer wit and humor to lighten a dry subject, you'll hate this book. Tim, what's happening on the WebObjects front please?
Summary: This is the book I've been waiting for!
Rating: 5
Finally a WebObjects book that shows you how to take advantage of the cool features of WebObjects like key-value coding, SVG, WebServices, and developing applications using components. This book has very clear and easy to follow examples that you can immediately use in real world applications. For example I was able to use the Webservices code in the chapter on SOAP and WebObjects to build a small application at work that takes advantage of a Webservice created in ColdFusion by a co-worker. I have all of the currently shipping WebObjects books and I can say without a doubt that this one is the best! If you have a good understanding of OO programming you should be able to use the hands on examples from this book to develop WebObjects applications. If you are a Mac Programmer this book and Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X by Aaron Hillegas are two books you'll want to read.

The advent of powerful processing technologies and the advances in software development tools have drastically changed the approach and implementation of computational research in fundamental properties of living systems through simulating and synthesizing biological entities and processes in artificial media. Nowadays realistic physical and physiological simulation of natural and would-be creatures, worlds and societies becomes a low-cost task for ordinary home computers. The progress in technology has dramatically reshaped the structure of the software, the execution of a code, and visualization fundamentals. This has led to the emergence of novel breeds of artificial life software models, including three-dimensional programmable simulation environment, distributed discrete events platforms and multi-agent systems. This second edition reflects the technological and research advancements, and presents the best examples of artificial life software models developed in the World and available for users.
Summary: a sequel to the Game of Life
Rating: 4
Remember Conway's Game of Life? Surely you must, if you are interested in this book. The Game has been around since the 70s. The editors have cultivated recent research papers that demonstrate how far the field has advanced. Reinforced by some pretty colour plates that depict artificial entities [dare we call them living?] in some surroundings. These include the modelling of bee flights through a garden, and simulated trajectories of a group of bacteria.
Nor is the Game of Life ignored. One plate shows it in three dimensions. The Game is played in 2 dimensions, with time as the third dimension. An obvious choice that gives interesting trajectories of the cells.
The narrative adds to the illustrations. By describing a variety of computer simulations [worlds?]. Where the experimenter can tweak many parameters, and watch her world unfold. Some worlds are impressively rich in complexity of observed behaviours.
The only drawback in the book is its skimpy index. A mere two pages. It should have been more detailed.

Fundamentals of Neural Network Modeling: Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience
Randolph W. Parks, Daniel S. Levine, Debra L. Long, "Fundamentals of Neural Network Modeling: Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience"
Publisher: The MIT Press | 1998-12-11 | 421 Pages | ISBN: 0262161753 | PDF | 20 MB
Over the past few years, computer modeling has become more prevalent in the clinical sciences as an alternative to traditional symbol-processing models. This book provides an introduction to the neural network modeling of complex cognitive and neuropsychological processes. It is intended to make the neural network approach accessible to practicing neuropsychologists, psychologists, neurologists, and psychiatrists. It will also be a useful resource for computer scientists, mathematicians, and interdisciplinary cognitive neuroscientists. The editors (in their introduction) and contributors explain the basic concepts behind modeling and avoid the use of high-level mathematics. The book is divided into four parts. Part I provides an extensive but basic overview of neural network modeling, including its history, present, and future trends. It also includes chapters on attention, memory, and primate studies. Part II discusses neural network models of behavioral states such as alcohol dependence, learned helplessness, depression, and waking and sleeping. Part III presents neural network models of neuropsychological tests such as the Wisconsin Card Sorting Task, the Tower of Hanoi, and the Stroop Test. Finally, part IV describes the application of neural network models to dementia: models of acetycholine and memory, verbal fluency, Parkinsons disease, and Alzheimer's disease. Contributors: J.
